About Lorraine

Lorraine is a Chartered Clinical Psychologist specialising in work with children and their families, extending to the young adult range.
Her primary interests include child and family work, preventative approaches in mental health, anxiety disorders, psychological impact of medical conditions, as well as supporting parents in managing young children’s behaviour. Lorraine uses CBT, ACT and integrative approaches to therapy, bringing together different elements of specific therapies to suit individual needs.
Lorraine completed her MSc on the Oxford Clinical Psychology (1995) course and then obtained a Doctorate studying anxiety disorders in mothers and children at Essex University (2011). She also holds a BSc Psychology (Belfast, 1990) and an MA in Child Development (Nottingham, 1991).
She is an Associate Fellow of the British Psychological Society, a HCPC certified practitioner and a member of ACAMH. She worked from 1995 in the NHS across the age range (preschool to third level education) in a variety of settings, including child development, paediatric inpatients and outpatients, neuropsychology, CAMHS. She also worked for almost 7 years as a Specialist Mentor at the University of Oxford.
