Professional Practice

I am a Chartered Clinical Psychologist registered with the British Psychological Society and the Health and Care Professions Council. As such, I must comply with the Codes of Practice set out by these organisations.

Confidentiality

All information will be treated as confidential, including the content of any meetings and communications with you or others. Any written notes will be kept securely.

However, in certain circumstances, there can be exceptions to confidentiality that you must note.

  • My work is subject to professional supervision and as part of that I will discuss the content of sessions with colleagues. These sessions are covered under a professional agreement and care is taken to anonymise any identifying details.
  • Where maintaining confidentiality or withholding information may result in harm to yourself, your child or others. I am bound by professional codes of conduct to act in these instances.
  • Where required to provide information by social services or other legal process.

Duration and termination

After the initial assessment and call we will arrange subsequent sessions as needed on an ad-hoc basis. You are free to book in top up sessions with me as needed unless I have advised you of a need for more one-to-one intervention. In that case I will help to advise and signpost you to appropriate services.

Cancellations

If you need to cancel or reschedule an appointment, then please give me as much notice as possible so that I can reallocate that slot to another person. In the event that I need to cancel or reschedule, I too will give as much notice as I am able. I will only cancel at short notice due to unforeseen circumstances.

Missed appointments or cancellation with less than 24 hours will be charged at the full session rate since I will not be able to reallocate that appointment to anyone else.
