Warm, evidence-informed support — because every child deserves to flourish.
Over 30 years ago, I sat with my first family as a newly qualified psychologist — a little uncertain, but already aware that the right support, given at the right time, can change everything for a child and the people who care for them.
Three decades on, that belief hasn't changed. What has changed is the depth of experience I bring to every conversation.
Throughout my NHS career, I worked across a wide range of services — from Child Development and Paediatric Psychology to Child Neuropsychology and CAMHS — supporting children and young people from the earliest years right through to young adulthood. Each role deepened my understanding of how children develop, how families function under pressure, and how small, well-timed support can make a lasting difference.
For almost seven years, I also worked as a Specialist Mentor at the University of Oxford, supporting undergraduate and postgraduate students navigating significant psychological and emotional challenges. It was a reminder that the need for thoughtful, grounded support doesn't end at eighteen.
I started my independent practice in 2015. I aim to offer support that is flexible and tailored to each individual, across the age range.
What has stayed constant across all of it is this — people take steps when they feel safe enough to try. These steps need to be small and realistic. Encouragement matters more than perfection. That's the philosophy behind everything I do, and it's the heart of 3 Wee Tips.
Book an AppointmentI draw on a range of evidence-based approaches — adapting what I use to suit the individual, their age, their strengths, and their situation.
Helping children and young people understand the connections between thoughts, feelings and behaviour — and gently suggest ways to help.
Building psychological flexibility — learning to accept the tricky feelings and letting them pass, and helping them find tools to help.
Every person is unique. I try to be creative to bring together helpful ideas for each individual.
Whether you'd like to book an appointment, explore the 3 Wee Tips library, or simply ask a question — I'd love to hear from you.
