Professional Practice

Terms & Conditions

Please take a moment to read the following information before engaging with my services. These terms set out how I work and what you can expect from our professional relationship.

🎓 Professional Practice

I am a Chartered Clinical Psychologist registered with both the British Psychological Society (BPS) and the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC). My work is guided by the professional standards, ethics and codes of conduct set out by these organisations.

🔒 Confidentiality

Creating a safe and trusting space is an important part of psychological support. Information shared during appointments, along with any written records, will be treated as confidential and stored securely.

As part of good professional practice, I receive regular clinical supervision. This means that aspects of my work may be discussed with experienced professional colleagues. Any identifying details are carefully anonymised and discussions remain confidential.

There are some circumstances where confidentiality may need to be broken. These include:

If concerns arise regarding safety or wellbeing, I will always aim to discuss this with you wherever possible before involving other professionals.

If you decide to engage with my services, I will usually notify your child's GP of my involvement. With your agreement, I am also happy to liaise with schools, healthcare professionals and other agencies involved in supporting your child or family.

📅 Appointments

We will begin with an initial assessment to explore your concerns and consider the most helpful way forward.

Following the assessment, appointments can be arranged according to your needs. Some families benefit from a series of sessions, while others prefer occasional review or top-up appointments.

If I feel that a different type of support or more intensive intervention would be beneficial, I will discuss this with you and help signpost you to appropriate services.

📋 Cancellations

If you need to cancel or rearrange an appointment, please provide as much notice as possible. This allows me the opportunity to offer the appointment to another family.

Appointments cancelled with less than one working day's notice, or missed appointments, will be charged at the full session fee.

Should I need to cancel or rearrange an appointment, I will provide as much notice as possible. Short-notice cancellations on my part would only occur in unforeseen circumstances.

💷 Appointments & Fees

Appointments are available online via Zoom video consultations.

We will usually begin with an initial assessment appointment of approximately 90 minutes. This provides an opportunity to understand your concerns, gather relevant background information and consider together the most helpful way forward.

Follow-up appointments are typically 50–60 minutes in duration and are tailored to the needs of the child, young person, parent or family.

Fees from 6th April 2024

Additional services requested outside of scheduled appointments — such as extended consultations, telephone calls, email support, or liaison with schools and other professionals — will be charged on a pro-rata basis.

Invoices are issued following each appointment and payment is due on the day of the session. Payment can be made by bank transfer. Fees may be reviewed annually and any changes will be communicated in advance.

Thank you for taking the time to read these terms. My aim is to provide a supportive, professional and warm service — and I hope these guidelines give you confidence in how I work.

If you have any questions about any of the above, please don't hesitate to get in touch.
